Message from your Chair

Greetings! If you are a member but have not been receiving emails regarding our meetings, please sign on to the ASQ.org website to check your email preferences and that your email address on file with ASQ is correct. We are required to download and use a new list each month and can no longer maintain a separate file with updated email addresses sent to us by our members.

Are you using LinkedIn? There is a group for ASQ Kitchener in LinkedIn. This is another avenue we can use for better communication between members of our group.

Since September, the leadership team has been trying out some new approaches to improve the experience for our section members. Switching to Eventbrite for registration, reducing the number of meetings that include dinner (and associated cost), and making more meetings free have all been favorably received by meeting attendees.

We welcome new members to our section and are also interested in increasing the number of new members on the executive. In our secretary and treasurer are first-time executive members. Please feel free to approach any of the leadership team if you are interested in earning more recertification points by being on the leadership team.

In the spring we started running education sessions and hope to continue this.

Since we have determined that there are few section members who are writing exams and the exams cost us time and money to run, we have notified ASQ headquarters that we are reducing from running exams 4 times a year to running them only twice a year. Those two sessions will still allow us to offer all ASQ exams to our members annually.

We require volunteers as proctors and if we had enough volunteers we could offer the exams on the full ASQ schedule. If you are interested in being a proctor or taking over the Certification Chair role, please email us at .
